Last Respects Paid Mrs. Cora Ashford at Tuesday Service

Rites were held Tuesday afternoon at a local chapel for Mrs. Cora Dobbs Ashford, 56, former Gainesville, who died suddenly Friday at the residence in Danville, Va. Rev. L. Wilkie Collins officiated and burial was in Alta Vista cemetery.

She was the wife of the late Mr. James H. Ashford, well-known Gainesville newspaper man, and lived here many years.

Born in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Mr. N. G. Dobbs and Sara Elizabeth Dobbs. She was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. R. W. Burton, Washington, D. C., and two sisters, Mrs. J. C. Kinsey, Atlanta, and Mrs. Sallie McCallum, Norfolk, Va.

Mrs. Cora Dobbs Ashford, wife of the late James H. Ashford, well-known Gainesville newspaper man, died suddenly at the residence in Danville, Va.
She was born in North Carolina, a daughter of the late N. G. Dobbs and Sarah Elizabeth Dobbs, and she made her home in Gainesville for a long number of years where she is pleasantly remembered. She was a member of the Methodist church.

She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. R. W. Burton, of Washington, D. C., and two sisters, Mrs. ? C. Kinsey of Atlanta, and Mrs. Sallie McCallum of Norfolk, Va.
The body was brought to Gainesville where final rites were ???Tuesday afternoon and interment was in Alta Vista cemetery.
