Rogers-Northview Henry P. Land, Sr., 83 of 2193 Paulia St. died Monday, May 1, 1989 in his home. Mr. Land was born in Santa Rosa County and lived for 61 years in Gonzalez. He was retired Escambia County Sheriff's Dept. He was a member of East Hill Masonic Lodge 310, a 32 degree Scottish Rite mason. He was also a member of Gonzalez United Methodist Church and has served as a member of the Administration Board and as a Trustee. He was a member of the United Methodist Men. Survivors include: his wife of 61 years, Dixie Allen Land of Gonzalez; five sons, Culver Land of Gulf Breeze, Alan Land of Weatherford, Okla., Henry Land, Jr., of Guthrie Okla., David Land of Weatherford, Okla., two daughters, Dr. Gwenith Terry of Pensacola, Elaine Barrow of Pensacola; two sisters, Aileen Chant of Owassa, Mi., Maude Lambert of Meridian, Miss.; 17 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm, Wednesday in Gonzalez United Methodist Church with the Rev. Timothy Trent and Rev. Hugh McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery, in Santa Rosa County, with arrangements being made by Rogers-Northview Funeral Home, 988 Pensacola Blvd., 478-5633. Friends may call at Rogers-Northview Funeral Home from 5:30 - 7:30 pm, Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hand Bell Choir of Gonzalez United Methodist Church. Active pallbearers will be Blane Land, Al Land, Todd Land, Willian H. Terry, Kevin Allen and Vernon Bray. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Gonzalez United Methodist Men. |
