Merck, 36, Crash Victim, Buried GAINESVILLE, Ga., Aug. 18 - Funeral services for Phillip ??? Merck, 36, member of a prominent Gainesville family, were held Tuesday afternoon at the First Methodist Church here, with interment in Woodlawn Cemetery. Rev. R. L. Russell and Charles T. Brown officiated. Mr. Merck died Monday at the Crawford W. Long Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile wreck near Alpharetta, Ga. He was born in Gainesville, a son of Hubert N. Merck and the late ??? Mary Erwin Merck. For a number of years he had been a rail engineer with the State Highway Department. He was a member of the Baptist Church. In addition to his father he is survived by three brothers, W. C. and ?? Merck, Gainesville; Abe ??, Greenville, S. C. and his sisters, Ruby (Cook???) Merck of ???
