Wedding of Charlotte "Lottie" DeBelle Ashford and Charles S. Merck, recorded as happening November 13, 1884 in Hall County, Georgia.

Happily Mated

At the residence of the bride's father on Green street, last Thurs. evening at ??? o'clock Mr. Charles S. Merck of Hoschten, was married to Miss Lottie Ashford, by Rev. A. A. Marshal who performed the ceremony in a most beautiful and impressive manner. A number of the relatives and friends of the bride and bridegroom were present to witness this marriage. Miss Lottie was one of the most beautiful, accomplished and enjoyable young ladies of our city. She is the pride of her parents and the loved one of all who know her. We are indeed sorry that Gainesville's society is rid of Miss Lottie's presence. She will be missed by every one. Mr. Merck is a prosperous young merchant, of Hoeschton, is moral and upright in character and we predict for them both a long life of prosperity and unalloyed happiness.

The couple, with several friends, left on the following morning for their new home and a reception was given them, on their arrival, at the residence of Prof. N. A. Moss who outdid himself in the kindness and attention shown his guests.
