| Pitchford-Ashford The marriage of Miss Mellie Pitchford to Mr. George H. Ashford, both of this city, occurred Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock in Atlanta at the home of Rev. Winthrip, who performed the ceremony. While the marriage of this young couple was not unexpected, it being the result of a long and romantic courtship, the wedding at the time was a surprise to even the closest friends. Miss Pitchford has been spending the winter in Alton, Oklahoma, and she returned from that place to Atlanta Monday afternoon at three o'clock, and there Mr. Ashford joined her and the ceremony was performed. Miss Pitchford is the popular and talented young daughter of Mr. And Mrs. J. H. Pitchford, while Mr. Ashford is an energetic young man who has many friends in the city. They are at present at the home of Mr. Ashford's sister, Mr. Lumsden, on Candler street, but after Christmas they will be at home to their friends at Spring street.
