Syfan - Merck

A marriage of decided interest to the community and many friends was that of Miss Lucy Syfan of Abbeville, S.C., to Mr. Ralph Merck of this city, which occurred April 23 at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. George William Syfan at Abbeville. The marriage was a quiet affair, being attended only by the immediate family and a few friends.

The bride is a niece of Mr. and Mrs. T.J. Syfan of this city and it was while she was visiting here that she met Mr. Merck and a romance was begun which culminated in a happy union. She is a young woman of attractive personality and mental attainments have won for her a large circle of friends and admirers at home and rendered her a popular guest wherever she has visited.

The groom is a son of Mrs. C.S. Merck and a progressive young business man of the city whose sterling qualities and faculties of mind have won for him a high place in the esteem of the commercial world.

Mr. and Mrs. Merck returned yesterday from a bridal trip to Florida, where they visited his sisters at Apalachicola and Jacksonville and are now at home to their friends at 53 North Prior Street.
